Danube Bend - Esztergom - Visegrad - Szentendre

Bus transfer from the Congress Venue to Esztergom, the former royal capital of Hungary and the seat of the Primate, head of the Roman Catholic Church in Hungary. We will take you across the bridge to Slovakia, so you can enjoy the view of the largest Church of Hungary. We will enter the Basilica. After the visit we will carry on to Visegrad, which also served as a capital at once. From this point you can admire the most beautiful view over the Danube Bend. We will offer you a lunch in a charming local restaurant, then we will carry on to Szentendre, which is a charming artist town, full of galleries and with a Mediterranean ambience due to its history. It is also a great location to purchase some Hungarian souvenirs at the end of the day. Bus transfer back to the hotel. We plan to arrive back to the hotel around 6 pm.   (Minimum 10 people)


Guided tour in the Hungarian National Gallery

Bus transfer from the Congress Venue to the Castle district with a local guide. Guided tour with a local expert for ca. 1,5 hour in the Hungarian National Gallery located within the Royal Palace. Its collections cover Hungarian art in all genres, including the works of many nineteenth- and twentieth-century Hungarian artists. Then one hour free time to explore the rest of the Gallery on your own.  Bus transfer back to the hotel. The tour finishes at 13:30.  (Minimum 10 people)

Enjoy a half-day excursion in Gödöllő. Visit the Royal Palace, one of the most important, largest monuments of Hungarian palace architecture, and the second largest Baroque castle in Europe. Originally it was built for the aristocratic Grassalkovich family. Later Franz Josef, Emperor of Austria and King of Hungary and his wife Elisabeth (Sisi) had their summer residence here. During this period, the palace became the symbol of independent Hungarian statehood, and as a residential centre it had a political significance of its own. After the guided tour in the palace, you’ll have the chance to explore the Royal Stables, stroll through the gardens or enjoy some Hungarian pastries in the Palace Café. After the guided tour we will transfer you to the welcome dinner of the congress in Domonyvölgy.

Art Nouveau Budapest

Starting from the Congress Venue by bus to explore the highlights of Art Nouveau in Budapest including the Museum of Applied Arts, the Geological Institute etc. Followed by a walking tour in the 5th district including a visit to the former Postal Saving Bank currently the Hungarian Treasury, the building with the most beautiful roof in Budapest, and to the House of Hungarian Art Nouveau, a small private collection with a charming café, where we will treat you with a coffee and cake.  Then bus transfer back to the hotel at 18:30 .  (Minimum 10 people)

Jewish Historical Walk

Starting from the Congress Venue by bus to the Jewish Quarter. Our tour will include an expert-led visit to the Great Synagogue or Dohány Street Synagogue, the largest synagogue in Europe and the second largest in the world and to the Jewish Museum followed by a walk in the Jewish district discovering the area of the former Jewish Ghetto of Budapest including an outside visit of Rumbach and Kazinczy Synagogues. Then bus transfer back to the hotel at 13:00.  (Minimum 10 people)

Lake Balaton and the Porcelain Manufactory of Herend

Bus transfer from the Congress Venue to the small town of Herend. We will visit the world famous manufactory, where porcelain production stared in 1826. We will see a short film, followed by a visit to miniature factory where you can see how the porcelain is made and decorated. There is also an excellent collection from the most valuable historical pieces of the company. We will finish our visit in the Café, where we will treat you with a coffee or tea from a real Herend cup. There is a factory store where you can also purchase some original Herend porcelain.
After the visit we will drive to Tihany, it is a peninsula at Lake Balaton. Due to its unique location, you can enjoy an amazing view over the lake. You can enjoy a Hungarian lunch with a glass of wine from the region. After lunch we will visit the Tihany Abbey which was founded in 1055 and has a unique interior with a royal tomb in its crypt.
We will also visit Balatonfüred on our way home, and take a walk along the promenade. The town was the first resort town at Lake Balaton in the 19th century.

Vienna-Bratislava-Prague – 3 Central European Capitals in 3 days


October 9. Vienna (Austria) and Bratislava (Slovakia)

We will take a bus ride through the Hungarian countryside. Upon arrival to Vienna, the Former Headquarter of the Habsburg Empire we will give you a short orientation by bus, around the famous Ring Road followed by a short walk in the downtown area including the St. Stephen’s Cathedral and the area of the Hofburg. We will give you some free time to explore a Viennese Café House on your own or to explore the city. In the late afternoon we will transfer to Bratislava only an hour on the bus, where we will have an evening city tour in the charming old town, with mediaeval atmosphere.
We will have dinner in a local restaurant and an overnight in a centrally located 4* hotel.


October 10. Bratislava (Slovakia) and Prague (Czech Republic)

After breakfast we will travel to the Prague, through the rolling hills of Moravia. Upon arrival to Prague we will welcome you with a local Bohemian lunch and if you feel like you can enjoy your first Czech bier. In the afternoon we will get acquainted with the downtown of Prague, the Old Town Square with the Astronomical Clock and enjoy the view of many spires. Dinner on your own.
Overnight in a local 4* hotel.


October 11. Prague (Czech Republic)

After breakfast we will explore the Hradcany, the Prague Castle including the St. Vitus Cathedral with a local guide. You are free for lunch and for the rest of the afternoon. In the evening we will take you on a boat tour on the Vltava with buffet dinner, so you can enjoy the lights of the city.

October 12. Prague (Czech Republic)

Our program finishes after breakfast.
If you wish you can get a transfer back to Budapest.
We plan to arrive to Budapest (Danubius Helia Congress Hotel) around 2 pm. – This transfer costs 50 Euro/person.
